Boy That was Dark

Another eventful day at school, power went out at 9:00 this morning and I and my co-teacher were stuck...STUCK I tell you! with the same 27 students...through break, through PE, through lunch until 12:30. Elementary school teachers are either insane or will be insane from having to stay with the same group of kids all day long. I think that is what is what was wrong with my mother all those years, cause she's fine now that she is stuck with just my father all day.

I took Wayne and Parker hunting this past week (http://www.family-tradition-outfitters.com/). We finally saw that "shootable" deer. It was near dark, Wayne was ready, he found his target, he fired...and fired...and fired...and fired. And when we walked down to see if he hit one, they were there waiting for us. Unfortunately, without anymore ammo, there was nothing we could do but watch them run. I told him I was not going to sit with him anymore, since he had fired his gun as many times that evening as I had my first season. He didn't need anyone to help guide him. I am really, really looking forward to when he does get his first one, I think the excitement will be overwhelming and he'll be excited, too!

The Groove Crew is gearing down from school and gearing up for Thanksgiving. We are going to my parents house in North Georgia and hope to have some COLD weather, with fires and hot drinks and "gettin' together".

When we get back, "Oh Joy", I've got jury duty in Superior Court. Sandy says I should be glad to do my civic duty, but I think 22 years of public service deserves an exemption. Bright side, I at least won't be with 165 middle schoolers for one day or maybe a week. Although, I'll probably miss every single one of them and end up being on duty the whole week wondering how severely they are torturing the substitute.

Parker had an intersting Wednesday. Sandy went to eat lunch with him, his teacher had mentioned that she wanted to let us know about something that had happened this week in school. She said that one day last week she needed to leave her room for a few minutes and she asked the teacher next door to watch her students while she was gone. When she returned she found her class quietly working on their assignment. She was furious, normally they would have been trying to climb the walls. She asked the class why they were behaving in such a good way for the other teacher. There was a short silence and Parker raised his hand. He calmly asked his teacher if it was because "the other teacher was nice and she was mean?". His teacher told Sandy that she had asked for it and she got it. Out of the mouths of babes...

Thats it for me today, I've had enough and I won't take this anymore, so I'll SEE YA!

Wormy,

Glad to hear from you. Funny how things change, but not everything. Looking forward to talking more later,SEE YA!
Hey Norman,

You got to ask harder questions than that.... Alan Ladd played Shane in the movie, Clint eastwood played the role in the 1960's T.V. show. Gald to be of service to you.

Hey, I'm back again. I've been busy this week, already. I had to go to work extra early this morning to prepare 165 different tests so that my students would'nt cheat while I was away at the dullest seminar I've ever attended. On the way home from Pelham I saw an 8 ft. long alligator. I had to stop to take a closer look. While I was out I saw about 12 baby alligators, pretty cool except they were a little too close to some houses so I'm gonna call the game warden to let him know about it.
My oldest son, Wayne called me from school to let me know he was waiting for me, what a good son! So I came on to school, picked him up, and we came home to repair and rearrange the T.V. / entertainment center. After about two hours of moving, measuring, breaking, cussing, cutting, covering, wire wrapping and adjusting, he says to me..."a job I thought would take just a few minutes has ended up taking forever". I said "son, in this house there is no such thing as a quick job, just look at all the half finished projects going on...". If you knew me, the age of our house and the things we are trying to do you would understand.
Sandy, thats my wife, stopped us from working by fixing some world class chili and "lacy" cornbread. Yeah, thats right , I'm no featherwieght, she keeps me in shape...bowling pin shaped that is. Right now shes getting two of the four "GROOVE CREW" members ready for the bath while checking my typing skills every time she passes by. You gotta love a woman...
Well, I've got lesson plans to update before tomorrow and I'm already bushed so I'll get back to you all soon. Thanks for listening...reading...whatever...SEE YA!
